“MY WORLD IN WATERCOLOR”
Nearly 30 years ago I learned of the great painter John
Pike and how he created his beautiful watercolors. His
impact was so great that I acquired watercolor paper,
brushes, paints, plus all the materials necessary to
pursue my new found goal of becoming a watercolorist.
The medium has captivated me since that time. The
challenge of laying down a perfect wash, avoiding the
muddy combinations, and trying to paint a clean, fresh
watercolor brings such pleasure. When my work is
completely dry I then study it with a magnifying glass
to marvel at the strokes and splatter of the paint.
I have experimented with other medium but ultimately I
return to my first true love – watercolor!
I never tire in my study of watercolor. Planning my
next work or simply the satisfaction I experience when a
person connects to my work and chooses to display it in
their home is high praise for my vision.
As you view my paintings, I hope you will see and feel
the joy and pleasure that only watercolors can give.
